Following the SC primary elections last week, the SC Workers Party (SCWP) is announcing which SC General Assembly seats our candidates will be pursuing for the General Election in November, 2024.
Our three candidates (Kiral Mace, Harold Geddings, and Gary Votour) had previously filed with the State Election Commission for both the Senate and House seats they were eligible for. Now that the primary elections for the Democratic and Republican parties are done, they have each decided to withdraw from one in order to focus on a single race for election to the General Assembly.
Kiral Mace will be withdrawing from the race for the House District 26, and will be pursuing the Senate District 16 seat.
Harold Geddings will be withdrawing from the race for the Senate District 26, and will be pursuing the House District 93 seat.
Gary Votour will be withdrawing from the race for Senate District 22, and will be pursuing the House District 76 seat.
All thee of our candidates are members of our SCWP Executive Committee. They will be campaigning this summer with numerous events and activities to reach SC voters with their party message.
The SCWP is pro-union. We support the ~~repeal of our state’s ‘right to work’ laws which restrict our worker’s rights to unionize.
The SCWP is pro-living wage. We support the creation of a state wide living wage of $20/hour for all workers in SC, with annual increases tied to the cost of living.
The SCWP is pro-health care. We support the establishment of a national healthcare-for-all system, as well as the immediate expansion of Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act to cover SC’s lower wage workers.
The SCWP is pro-human rights. We support abortion rights for all, the passing of a hate crime law, and equal rights for South Carolinans, regardless of race, ethnicity, religious beliefs and sexual identity.
